UX Case Study 2
Brand New Mobile App Design
Mental Health Support
Despite the prevalence of stress, anxiety, and depression, many individuals struggle to obtain necessary mental health support due to various barriers. These can include financial limitations, lack of access to trustworthy and personal support networks, and difficulty in finding effective assistance. Mental health applications, while offering a potential digital solution, often fall short in addressing users' specific needs, which leads to their underuse and eventual abandonment. Recognizing this gap, there is an opportunity to create a more effective and user-friendly mental health app that provides tailored support, motivates continuous use, and is both accessible and affordable, thereby addressing the core issues users face in managing their mental well-being.

Protocol
I conducted interviews with 20 potential users to gather feedback on the design. Based on the results, I improved the design.
For ACT Compass, users enjoy the mindfulness and values-based exercises, appreciating the clear layout, color usage, and imagery that contribute to an easy-to-follow experience. They also highlighted the app’s simplicity, which makes it not overly complicated. However, they suggested offering more dynamic feedback, personalization, and a wider range of features, while keeping the app's user-friendly and visually appealing design intact to maintain satisfaction.
